September is National Honey Month and to celebrate, several hotel properties are offering special deals for guests.

The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Downtown Denver has introduced a number of innovative offerings that incorporate the honey from its own bee colonies. Taking the sustainability of rooftop hives to a whole new level, the hotel’s “Bee Royalty Initiative” includes a variety of ways to enjoy the honey. The Rooftop Honey Saison beer, a summer creation with partner Wynkoop Brewing Company, will be on tap until the end of the month. Guests can also sip on the honey-infused bourbon in the house cocktail, Honey Brut or enjoy the hotel’s signature afternoon tea service. Head to the spa to indulge in the Queen Bee Body Scrub treatment or shop the signature spa products in the boutique. The Bee Royalty products available for purchase include a honey lip balm, honey lavender soap as well as jars of pure, organic honey with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Denver Beekeeper Association.
Weekend package rates start at $169 per night. The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, 321 17th St., Denver, CO; 800-321-2599, brownpalace.com

Sandos Caracol Eco-Resort & Spa in the tropical Caribbean paradise of Riviera Maya, is an all-inclusive property that infuses local culture and traditions for an authentic Maya-centric experience. As part of the property’s extensive Xcalacoco Experience, the resort is home to an on-site Maya honeybee colony to aid in protecting the endangered species. Twice a year, a Mayan Shaman performs a bee ceremony ritual that requests permission from the bees to extract honey for use in the property’s therapeutic Maya spa rituals such as the Nourishing Ancient Maya Ritual, a great source of vitamins and nutrients for the skin.
